Kyle Austin Dunn, born in 1987 in Daytona Beach, Florida, is a visual artist now based in Oakland, California. After earning a BFA in Drawing from the University of Florida and an MFA in Studio Art from the University of California, Davis, Dunn established a practice that bridges painting and sculpture. His work frequently engages with the tactile and sculptural qualities of paint, adding depth and dimension to his colorful compositions. Dunn is inspired by the versatility of lines and their ability to evoke both universal and individual responses. His approach to color is similarly dynamic, often employing bold palettes that reference his upbringing in Florida.

Dunn's artistic journey began with sculpture, but his practice has evolved to include elaborate, textured paintings that shift depending on the viewer’s perspective. My work is about movement—both literal and conceptual. I want the viewer's eyes, bodies, and minds to stay in motion, without the need for a specific endpoint.
