We are thrilled to announce the first Parisian exhibition of Tokyo-based artist Yusuke Toda, titled "Days of YUM." The exhibition is set to run from June 3 through June 17 at Cohle Gallery.
Yusuke Toda, born in 1991, is renowned for his vibrant, playful paintings that seamlessly bridge the realms of contemporary art, Japanese culture, and pop art. Known for his iconic character, YUM, Toda invites viewers into a world where black and white coalesce with pops of vibrant color, creating a mesmerizing visual journey. Toda's work has been acclaimed globally for its dynamic blend of traditional and modern styles, with exhibitions selling out and receiving significant attention from the art world. His unique contributions to contemporary art have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Ichiro Fukuzawa Award, along with honorable mentions for the prestigious Shell Art Prize and FACE Prize.
The forthcoming exhibition, "Days of YUM," encapsulates a vibrant snapshot of YUM's daily life. The paintings serve as glimpses into YUM's world, inviting viewers to find parallels within their own life experiences. The two main artworks of the show delve deeper into realism, grounding YUM's world in ours. « Yum and Girl » & « Yum, Boy & Girl » function as connectors between reality and the whimsical realm YUM inhabits, further enhancing the engaging narratives that Toda is known for.
Through 'Days of YUM', Yusuke Toda wants to portray the routine moments of YUM, which viewers could relate to. "These paintings, much like YUM itself, serve as a bridge between the artistic universe I've created and our reality." The exhibition promises to be an immersive experience, allowing audiences to traverse the enchanting landscapes of Yusuke Toda's imagination.
