FONDATIONS

GROUP SHOW : FONDATIONS

Alongside "Monuments", the Cohle Gallery is proud to present "Fondations", a collective exhibition showcasing the works of six international artists:

Adam Handler, a New York-based artist emblematic of the gallery and known for his Faux Naïf style, presents a monumental portrait of a woman for this exhibition.

Georgia Beaumont, a British artist, delves into the plasticity of floral forms. Her works, influenced by the cyclical constancy of nature, capture the instinctual energy of English seasons through botanical compositions that resonate with our inner landscapes.

Hannah Carrick, an Australian artist, celebrates femininity with works where color and texture merge in richly pigmented paintings. Focused on themes of independence and healing, her canvases reflect a strong commitment to women's empowerment and a deep connection with nature.

Matt Macken, based in the UK, explores the tensions between humanity and nature in his abstract and figurative paintings. His canvases offer an introspective journey, inviting reflection on the contradictions of human nature and the environmental challenges that surround it.

Lily Macrae, a Scottish artist, fuses the visual drama of the past with contemporary gestures and palettes. Inspired by Renaissance and Baroque masters, she creates large-scale works that transport the viewer into a whirlwind of colors and movements, blending imagination with knowledge.

And Sophie-Yen Bretez, a self-taught artist based in Paris. Her art, characterized by dream-like surrealist figuration, delves into complex emotional states and the human condition.

Fondations highlights diverse artistic practices that, together, reveal the roots and underlying influences of contemporary creation. This collective exhibition seeks to explore the bases upon which current artistic visions are built, offering a stimulating contrast with Ethel Coppieters' exhibition "Monuments".
