HANNAH CARRICK

Hannah Carrick (b. 1988, Australia) is a Byron Bay-based artist whose work is celebrated for its deep exploration of biophilia—the intrinsic connection between humans and the natural world—and the transformative, healing nature of the artistic process. Known for her vibrant use of color and texture, Carrick’s art invites viewers to engage with themes of introspection, self-reflection, and emotional healing.

“For me, the process of creating and using my hands generates a sense of healing and solitude. Painting and color is my therapy, my escape during darker times. I see my works as little windows of sunshine, nostalgia, and inspiration,” she reflects.

Carrick’s distinctive style is characterized by bold color palettes and layered textures created with oil paints and mixed media, often centers on femininity and the female form. Through her pieces, Carrick fosters a contemplative space for dialogue between humanity and the natural world, offering insights into the profound connections between the two.

In recent years, she has held four solo exhibitions, including at Rainbow Studios (Sydney, AUS) and Yeah Nice Gallery (Byron Bay, AUS), and her work has been featured in group exhibitions at prestigious venues such as Tappan (Los Angeles, CA) and Hake House (Sydney, AUS).

Carrick is represented internationally by The Tappan Collective (Los Angeles, CA).
